Which folder should I choose when I click the folder icon?

After extracting the zip, verify the HTML file and the license.json file exists together in the same folder. When you click the folder icon and choose that folder, the app links itself to that location and will save your notes and attachments there. If you move only one file later, things may stop working or notes may disappear.

What should I do if I cannot find the license file?

If your license.json file seems missing, first check that you extracted the zip instead of opening files directly inside it. Look for a file with “license” in its name in the same folder as the HTML. If you still cannot find it, re-download the zip from the website original link.

What if I click the folder icon and nothing happens?

When you click the folder icon and nothing appears to happen, confirm your browser did not block the folder picker. Try again in a fresh tab, or another supported browser. Also verify you selected the folder that actually contains your HTML and license files, not a parent or empty folder.

Why is it important to select the exact folder with the License file?

You should always select the exact folder that holds the License file. All your notes and attachments will be saved in the folder where the License file exists. Every time you close your browser and reopen the HTML file, you need to choose the License folder. Do not pick higher-level folders like Downloads or Documents, or the app will not find the files it needs.

Can I move my notes folder to another drive or computer later?

Yes, you can move everything later, as long as you move the entire folder structure together. Close the app, move the folder to the new drive or computer, then reopen the HTML from its new location and select the same folder again. Your notes and attachments will reconnect correctly.

Do I need internet or an online account to use this every day?

No, you do not need an internet connection or cloud account to use this tool daily. Everything runs inside your browser from your local folder. Online access is only required to download updates or backups from your own cloud service, if you choose to sync or store copies there.

What if I selected the wrong folder the first time?

If you accidentally picked the wrong folder, simply click the folder icon again and choose the correct one that contains the License file. The app will re-link to that location and load all your content. Your previous notes will remain in whichever folder originally stored the data files.

How can I safely back up my notes and attachments?

To keep things safe, regularly back up the entire folder that contains your HTML, license, and data files. You can copy it to an external drive, another computer, or a private cloud folder. Restoring is simple: paste the folder somewhere else and open the same HTML file from there.

Can I create separate spaces or vaults for different types of work?

You can create separate “vaults” by copying the original extracted folder and renaming each copy, for example Work, Study, or Therapy. Each folder will have its own files and store its own notes. Open any HTML and connect the folder of the vault you want to work with that day.

Why do my notes look missing after switching browsers or updating my system?

If you switched browsers or updated your system and the app looks empty, do not panic. Your notes are stored in files inside the folder, not inside the browser. Click the folder icon again, re-select the original data folder, and the app will instantly bring everything back.
